What impressed me the most about these exercises is that, just like the Dozen, they are easy to learn and do. He even had them step to the front, to the side, and to the back. This is exactly what Camp did for his members of the Senior Service Corps. On the other hand, one can add more exercises on top of the Dozen. Well, one can do the Dozen again in 2 or 6 more sets. What happens, though, if the person wants to do more and has the time to do so? It’s also a good set of exercises to do when one hardly has the time to do a proper workout. The Daily Dozen is a great set of exercises for those who are new to working out. The Dozen is a distilled version of said calisthenics exercises. The main program of the Corp is devoted to a regimen of calisthenics followed by lots of marching. Walter Camp first introduced his Daily Dozen exercise series in his book, “ Keeping Fit All the Way.” As I have written in a previous post, the first half of the book is devoted to his senior citizens exercise club, known as the Senior Service Corp. Besides, as a Walter Camp fanboi, I have a reputation to maintain. “What?” You might say after going through my archive, “Another post on Walter Camp? Haven’t you done enough!?” (This is a post I was going to write before my laptop blew up.)Īs you can see from the title, I am writing a new post on Walter Camp’s Fitness regimen.
